The Clearwave uses a different method to soften or condition the water. It attaches easily to the main water pipe entering your home with pipe clips. Then the antenna leads are wrapped around the pipe. It does not matter what the pipe is made of. It does however need to be plugged into a 120 volt power outlet.
The Clearwave works with a computer chip that bombards the incoming water with 200 different electromagnetic low frequency pulses. These pulses prevent the hard minerals from sticking to the pipes and cause scale. It also will take away existing scale in your pipes and appliances. It is recommended for drinking, bathing, and for dishwashers. The Clearwave costs $ 140.
When buying a salt free water softener, it really pays to do your research. Out of all the salt free water softeners at amazon.com, these received the highest ratings. Also, these were some of the cheapest ones, as others are commonly over $ 1000.
One other thing to keep in mind, you can always try one out to see if you are happy with it. But keep in mind they do have a limited amount of time for their warranty. So be aware of when your warranty expires and to return it for your money back if you are not happy in the time allowed.
