Problemi idraulici comuni della cucina

The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your home, and it’s one of the rooms that has plumbing. Things usually run smoothly, but the odds are that you will eventually run into some of the more common kitchen plumbing problems. Knowing what they are ahead of time can help you to avoid them, and it can also alert you to when it’s time to call a plumber.

A clogged drain is perhaps the most common problem. Unfortunately, a lot of people treat their drain like it’s a garbage disposal. They rinse large chunks of food and grease off of their dishes and send them down the drain. All of this garbage starts to accumulate, and your drain eventually gets clogged. Your first reaction may be to use drain cleaner, but that is not always the best solution. A safer bet is to use a plunger to clear the drain. If a plunger doesn’t work, then the pipes may need to be removed, and that’s a job best left to a plumber.

Leaky faucets are such a common problem that a lot of people choose to live with the constant dripping. That’s never a good idea. Not only will you waste a lot of water and pay higher water bills, but that small leak can turn out to be a bigger problem. Replacing a leaky faucet takes a fair amount of know-how, but if you are handy with tools and familiar with plumbing fixtures, then you may be able to handle it yourself. The risk of doing this is that you may not be aware of the bigger problem that’s causing the leak. If you have any doubt at all, then have a plumber check it out.

Problems with garbage disposals are also quite common. It’s true that it is best to dump things down the disposal, as opposed to the regular drain, but there can still be issues that cause it to stop working properly. You should never put your hands into a garbage disposal to free an obstruction, so be sure to call a professional plumber if you need to. Check the owner’s manual for operating instructions, and follow it carefully. There should also be a troubleshooting section which may be enough to solve whatever is wrong with the unit.

These common kitchen plumbing problems are usually just an inconvenience, but they can lead to even bigger problems if they aren’t fixed right away. You can try to do it yourself, or you can get a qualified plumber to fix it right the first time.
