Quando dovresti risolvere una perdita da solo

Translating…

You walk into your bathroom and you see water on the floor. You say to yourself, “Oh no.” You open up the drawers underneath the sink and see that the pipe has sprung a leak and it’s been leaking for a while now. What do you do?

You have two options when it comes to a leaky pipe. You can either fix it yourself or call someone to come and fix it for you. But how do you know if this is something you should fix yourself?

Deciding What to Do

If you have worked on plumbing before than it’s naturally one of the tasks you are familiar with and can probably do it yourself. However, if it’s something you’ve never dealt with, you’ll have to do a little more investigating to decide if you should do the job or let the experts handle it.

You Know What the Problem Is

If you know what the problem is then you are a better advantage to decide if you should fix it yourself. For instance, if you know that it’s just a cracked seal and all you need to do is use some plumber’s putty, then you can probably do this yourself.

However, if you have no idea why the pipe is leaking and you suspect that it may be a larger problem then just sealing up a split, it’s best to call a plumber because you can make the problem much worse.

You Can Follow Direction Well

It’s also important to consider how well you can follow directions. Some people don’t like to read how to do things and just wing it. This could lead you to having your entire bathroom plumbing all over the floor with no way to know how to fix it.

However, if you are one to meticulously follow the instructions for anything you do and have an easy time putting things together. This may be a job that you can do well and in not a lot of time.

A Friend That Can Help

Sometimes if you can’t do the job yourself, you can have a friend come in and help you get through it. Of course, this friend must have some idea or experience in the area of plumbing to be worth your time.

If you don’t have a friend who knows his way around plumbing, then it may be wise to have a plumber come by and look at it.

Use the Plumber for Information

Just because you call a plumber doesn’t mean that he has to do the job. You can have him come over and do an assessment of what the trouble is and then decide if it’s worth it to you to have him do the work or if you should do the work yourself. Sometimes, just knowing what the trouble is can help you make the decision quickly.
