Hoses are used to pull the liquid up and then push it where it is intended to go. Pipes are found in sizes that fit the unit and any other devices that are being used in the configuration. An electrical source must be available, and some people are using solar power to operate their well systems and pumping stations. A solar panel is installed near the unit, and batteries are needed to store the incoming charge. Otherwise, an AC source can be provided by the power company, or use a fuel powered generator to accommodate the load.
When using a system for livestock, there are additional devices that can be used as shut off valves. Floats can be adjusted to accommodate their needs. Lawn care systems can have underground pipes with sprayers installed that pop up when the pressure is applied to them.
