Evita gli scarichi e gli scarichi della cucina ostruiti dalla spazzatura

There is nothing more frustrating than to get ready to clean the kitchen after dinner only to find nothing is going down the kitchen sink or you can’t use the garbage disposal because it is not working.

Garbage disposals get clogged because there is a build up of waste deposited into the drain. Wastes like potato peels, coffee grinds and egg shells are not friendly to garbage disposals. Most people do not realize it but when you shove potato peels down the drain, the peels turn to paste. One way to avoid a clogged disposal is to throw the peels in the trash. If you insist on grinding up the peels there is no way you can prevent an eventual clog.

Here are some steps that may help delay the clogging of your drain even with potato peels.

Step 1 – Gather your peelings and fill the sink almost to the top with cold water.
Step 2 – Put the peelings in the water. Use a wooden spoon to keep them stirred up in the water.
Step 3 – Pull the plug, turn on the disposal and use the wooden spoon to keep the peelings feeding into the disposal. Never put the spoon down the drain into the disposal.
Step 4 – Continue to run the water for 2 to 3 minutes once the sink empties.

To keep daily garbage from clogging your disposal, know what your disposal is capable of and do not over load it if you do have a lot of garbage for the disposal:

Turn on the water then the disposal and SLOWLY feed the garbage to the disposal. The key is to leave the water run for 2 minutes after the last piece of garbage has gone down.
