So be creative when using the search engines as you can put a moments extra work into your search query to make your results much more targeted and easier to sift through.

Look into your plumbers credentials

It’s always important to make sure you’re dealing with a reputable contractor. After all, there are quite a few contractors out there that will over-charge, and make work up on the spot in order to get your to pay them more money. It’s actually been recorded on video by a documentary on CBC; there were plumbers making work up for a task that was very simple to fix in order to charge a higher amount for the job. So do your best to check into all of your plumbers credentials and call up their references as well.

Additionally, you can check on the internet to get an idea of how their services are. Websites such as the Better Business Bureau, Homestars, and Yelp are all great sources to find reviews on contractors. It’s always a good idea to use some judgment however, since it is not uncommon that fake bad reviews are written. At a bare minimum make sure you are given a copy of all insurance, licenses, and associated documentation that displays their credentials clearly so you can keep it for your records.

Finding a great plumbing contractor doesn’t have to be a headache, with a bit of work you can find a great plumber that will take care of your plumbing needs for years to come. But, it needs to be stressed always make sure you do your utmost to ensure that your chosen plumber is in-fact a licensed, insured plumbing contractor. You will be the one losing out in the end if something goes wrong, and you plumber is not who they claim to be.
