1.) When your pipes bang while turning on the water, its time to add straps and cushion the pipes with a rubber layer.
2.) If you are going to anchor a pipe make sure to leave room for expansion.

10.) If your toilet is making noise it can be due to restricted water flow or a defective ball cock assembly. This can be addressed by replacing the entire ball cock assembly or oiling the trip lever. Prior to doing this please make sure to adjust the shut off valve first. Additionally be sure to turn off the water at the fixture shut off valve followed by flushing the toilet to an empty tank. Sponge up any remaining water.
11.) If your toilet won’t stop running than the float arm may not be rising high enough. To remedy this you will need to bend the float arm down or away from the tank wall.
12.) If the issue isn’t # 11 than check to see if you have a water-filled float ball. If this is the case than it is time to replace the ball.
13.) Eliminate drafts in crawl spaces to prevent frozen pipes.
14.) Repair broken and cracked windows and doors to prevent frozen pipes.
15.) Insulate exterior walls to prevent frozen pipes.
16.) Disconnect outside water hoses.This also prevents frozen pipes.
17.) If you cannot thaw your pipes, don’t force it. Instead, call a licensed plumber.
18.) Do not use galvanized steel for your plumbing. Galvanized steel can be corrosion ridden. Copper plumbing is your best bet.
19.) Get a copy of the Uniform Plumbing Code to make sure your plumbing is up to par.
20.) Get your self professional tubing cutters, reciprocating-saw blades, hacksaw blades and a plastic pipe saw. Do it right or expect trouble down the road.
21.) Use sealant on all gaps and joints.
22.) Tighten everything, but not too tight.
23.) Always test your plumbing for leaks before finalizing anything.
24.) If your hot water pipe is rusty or discolored than:
a.) Drain the tank.
b.) Remove the elements, soak them in vinegar and then scrape off the scale.
c.) Have a plumber replace the pipes.
25.) If you have a clogged sink do the following:
a.) Turn off any faucet or appliance that drains into the drain.
b.) Use either a plunger or snake to unclog.
c.) Do not use any chemicals on the drain if it is COMPLETELY clogged.
